Born in Kuwait during the Gulf Invasion; family fled Somali civil war
Earned Associate Degree in Nursing and began working as a hospital and dialysis
nurse
Migrated to the United States, settled in Minnesota, and reunited with family.
Volunteered with Open Arms of Minnesota in Minneapolis, preparing and
delivering nutritious meals to individuals with life-threatening illnesses.
Completed Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Capella University; fought on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic as a dialysis nurse.
Founded a home care and home health agency to support the elderly and
disabled during the pandemic.
